It is not only an opportunity to sell more products, but also a chance to stand out in the market and gain a better position for the whole year. That is why preparations should start now.

One of the most important elements of an online store is software. Why do we have to take care to have the latest version of the program and access to updates? If the store works correctly, why do these updates? It is important for several reasons, I will mention only the most important ones:
The order is not accidental. Online stores operate on servers that also have software in the appropriate versions, e.g. php, mysql, etc. For many hosting companies, vacation is also the perfect time for changes and updates. Moreover, this also applies to other systems with which the store is integrated (payment systems, comparison engines, etc.). The most important element of the whole puzzle is that the store must work. It can be better, worse, have beautiful pictures or not, but it must work.
We issue updates just to ensure the security of store operations. The current version of the program is not only adapted to new browsers and functions, but also adapted to changes in software on servers.The next element is hosting - i.e. the server on which the store operates. It depends on this computer whether the stores work quickly or slowly. Whether suddenly the store will disappear after exceeding the limit written in the contract in small letters. Here you can't take shortcuts. Sometimes it is difficult to compare hosting company offers, but there are better and worse ones. There is no point in enchanting, if someone buys hosting for 60 PLN per year, the store will not work quickly and moreover the chances that it will fail during holidays are high. Not to mention backups, which are often not available. You should not save on hosting and it is worth choosing good offers.
Updating the store also involves adapting to legal changes. Every year there are changes in the law that we must include in the software. They concern the acceptance of the regulations, orders, price presentation, delivery costs, or mail format. Even some buttons, e.g. in the basket or on the order summary, are legally secured.
For the store to sell, it must be visible on the network. If you last updated the store a year ago, be aware that Google's criteria for shop positioning have changed several times in this time. In updates we change mechanisms to support indexing of stores, so that they are in line with current requirements. It makes no sense to pay external companies for positioning services if the program is in an old version and is not kept up to date.
The last element are new features. Sometimes we don't need them until we find out they exist. That's why it's worth checking them out and thinking about whether we can use them in the store. Updating sometimes takes time to get to know the news. We often have our habits and sometimes new features even bother us because something is different than usual, because we don't have time to deal with it. No matter what software we use. It is worth planning such an update in advance, finding time to check what has changed, getting to know new features.
