We have changed the banner display algorithm, currently the system remembers which banners have already been displayed to a given user and displays new ones to them.
Before the update, upon entering the main page of the online store, the first banner always appeared. After a certain time, the second one was displayed, etc.
The new algorithm remembers for each user separately which banner has already been displayed. Thanks to this, upon the next entry to the main page of the store, the next banners are displayed, starting from the last one displayed. What's more, which banner was displayed is remembered for 30 days.
In both cases, the initial banners will be displayed most often, but after the change, further and new banners will be additionally promoted. This has particular significance for returning customers and those who spend more time on the store page.
Changing the banner display can have a positive effect on the time spent on the page and the number of clicks, which is important not only in terms of sales value, but also in assessing customer engagement on the page in the process of positioning and SEO.
