The new version of the blog in the SOTESHOP 8 online store is much better for article positioning, but that's not all. We have added a WebStore add-on containing further blog improvements, which additionally support the SEO of products and categories.

Extension of the blog in the SOTESHOP online store

The new "Blog Extension" application allows for displaying blog posts on the product card and in categories. This is an extension of the new blog features we recently added to SOTESHOP 8 - learn more from the article: SOTESHOP 8. Blog in the online store. Better SEO and more effective store positioning.

Products

In the new version of the blog, we can link products to the article. Now additionally, posts containing references to the product will automatically appear on its card. Thanks to this, the customer can read additional information on the blog and at the same time we increase the internal link associations of the store, which is important for SEO and positioning.

Categories

In categories, we can display related articles in the form of links above the product list (in the category description), and at the bottom of the page in the form of a photo and a shortened description.

Here it is worth adding articles related to a given category or product group, e.g. How to do something, tips, information. Blog articles will be more effective in positioning categories than the description itself.

Activation

After installing the add-on, go to the blog panel in Applications->Blog and select "Configuration" from the menu. New sections will appear:

  • Posts on the product card
  • Posts in the category description
  • Posts on the category page

Just select "Activate" in the given section to make the new feature appear in the store. Additionally, you can change the presentation look and the number of displayed items.
