The new feature in the SOTESHOP software allows compliance with GPSR requirements by introducing the "Manufacturer Information" section on product pages. This enables a transparent and regulation-compliant presentation of product details and the responsible entity's information. Changes required from December 13, 2024.

What is GPSR?

GPSR «General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR): An EU regulation aimed at ensuring a high level of consumer protection by establishing uniform safety requirements for products placed on the market. It covers new, used, repaired, or refurbished products available through all sales channels, including online. GPSR imposes obligations on manufacturers, importers, distributors, and online platform providers to ensure product safety, monitor compliance, and inform consumers of potential risks. The regulation also introduces mechanisms for rapid response to the appearance of hazardous products on the market, such as the Safety Gate early warning system.».

Manufacturer Information and GPSR

In response to the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), the SOTESHOP software has been enhanced with a feature that adds "Manufacturer Information" to product pages. This feature allows for the inclusion of details about the manufacturer and the entity responsible for the product, increasing offer transparency and helping online store users easily meet legal requirements.

With this solution, sellers can provide, among other things, the manufacturer's name, address, and additional information required by the regulations. The feature is available as a standard in the latest version of the software and can be activated in the product configuration, allowing data to be added to manufacturers.

Changes Effective from December 13, 2024

The EU GPSR regulation comes into effect on December 13, 2024, and by this time, every store should complete the necessary data for each manufacturer whose goods are offered in the store, as well as safety information for products that require it.
